What: Making the grade: California and the transcontinental railroad

This archive features the transcontinental railroad’s history, showcased as it celebrates the 150th anniversary of its completion.

Check for yourself photographs, maps, and other documents that chronicle the construction of the 1,912-mile coast-to-coast line which connected and united the nation.
